The Korea Institute
of Construction Engineering and Management(KICEM),
founded in 1999, is a leading organization
representing the academic and industrial
communities of construction engineering
and management in Korea. KICEM currently
has more than 2,000 members including
professors, students, researchers, professional
engineers and government officials. Over
30 major Korean construction and engineering
companies are also involved in this organization
as member companies as well.
The main goals of KICEM are two fold:
first, developing and spreading a systematic
knowledge base for construction engineering
and management; second, leading and promoting
related R&D programs in collaboration
with academia, research institutes, and
industry. KICEM is achieving these goals
through various conferences, seminars,
education and training programs, and R&D
activities.
Now KICEM would like to present a new
vision for the development of the construction
engineering and management sector. As
this area has become one of the core technologies
in the world construction market, we would
like to share and spread relevant information
and knowledge by forming an international
network through this conference.
